Corporal Jiwan Limbu – Commander 1 (UK) Signal Brigade Commendation

Corporal Jiwan Limbu (Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment) has recently been awarded a Commander 1 (UK) Signal Brigade Commendation in the 2025 New Year Honours List, for his exceptional contributions to the Battalion’s readiness, cohesion, and reputation within 1 (UK) Signal Brigade and Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC). Under his leadership, the Battalion shooting team achieved historic success, including winning the Corps Operational Shooting Competition 2024 and excelling at the Defence Operational Shooting Competition 2024 and the Army Operational Shooting Competition 2024. His coaching firmly established the Battalion as Headquarters ARRC’s top shooting unit, while his selection for the British Army Shooting Team 2024 further enhanced its standing.

Stepping up to the role of Troop Sergeant, he demonstrated outstanding leadership, strengthened morale through initiatives including the Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment Families Day, and raised over £800 for the Gurkha Museum Trust. His efforts in training and sustainment scenarios significantly improved operational readiness. Corporal Jiwan’s dedication and impact fully merit this prestigious recognition.
