Exercise CARTWHEEL 2024 is an annual multinational land forces exercise, held in Fiji. It aims to increase interoperability and collaboration of skills required for the close country topical environment. The exercise consists of a staff planning exercise, jungle training and a live fire package. This year, 13 nations are taking part with the First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles supplying jungle warfare instructors to deliver a range of jungle skills to over 400 exercise participants.
Soldiers from Tonga, France, Fiji, USA and Australia have been taught jungle warfare skills, rappelling and live fire including explosive methods of breaching.
