Farewell message from outgoing Colonel Commandant of the Brigade of Gurkhas

As I pass the baton to Major General Gez Strickland DSO MBE as Colonel Commandant Brigade of Gurkhas, I wish to record my sincere and heartfelt thanks to all officers and soldiers in the Brigade of Gurkhas for their extraordinary service, selfless commitment and professionalism. It has been the honour of my life to serve you as Colonel Commandant, at the end of a long career in which I have had the privilege of serving alongside so many of you. My last four years have enabled me to visit every unit and to share in celebrating our many successes at both an individual and unit level. Wherever I have gone, you have always been the most gracious and generous of hosts – thank you.  I would also like to thank the Regimental Colonels and the Deputy Colonel Commandant for their unstinting support and the time and effort they invest on your behalf. Finally, I wish Major General Strickland every success in the future; I know he will serve you exceptionally well.
