Observing, mentoring and training students over 5-10 weeks to be Platoon Commanders, Platoon Sergeants and Section Commanders is not an easy task, especially when they do not speak your language!
A (AMBOOR) Company from The Second Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles (2 RGR) were trusted with delivering Operation INTERFLEX – a universally recognised, class leading recruit, leader, and instructor product to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs security forces.
66 personnel from A Company 2 RGR have teamed up with allies from the New Zealand Defence Force, the AFU and over 20 Ukrainian linguists and interpreters over a 10-week period to pass on as much knowledge to the trainees as possible.
By doing this we were enhancing the student’s survivability, lethality and offensive spirit through field exercises, live ranges and leadership lessons as well as cultural visits. Throughout, our training teams will lead by example, with professionalism and credibility, to inspire the trainees to be the best trained soldiers on the battlefield.
