Staff Sergeant Dinesh Rai – Commander 1 (UK) Signal Brigade Commendation

Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Dinesh Rai (Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment) has been awarded a Commander 1 (UK) Signal Brigade Commendation in the 2025 New Year Honours List for his outstanding leadership and dedication as the Acting Regimental Catering Warrant Officer within 170 Headquarter Squadron. During Exercise AVENGER TRIAD, a 3* NATO Headquarter capstone exercise at Bridgewater, which involved a complex civilian setting supporting over 500 personnel, he expertly led a diverse team of regular, reservists and civilian personnel, ensuring exceptional meal quality under demanding conditions while adapting to changing requirements.

In addition to operational success, SSgt Rai’s flawless contract management and exceptional event planning including the International Families Day event, enhanced community morale at Innsworth Station. His professionalism, calmness under pressure, and commitment to excellence have significantly strengthened morale and effectiveness within HQ ARRC.
