The Champion Company Competition (CCC-24) is a healthy rivalry between The Second Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles five companies. The competition sees the companies compete against each other in various military and sporting activities. This year’s competition began on the 15th of April 2024.
Everyone in C (TAMANDU) Company was driven and shared the same goal of winning the competition. We worked hard as a team to achieve our goal. Regardless of any rank, we were all motivated, prepared and ready for the challenge. It is said that “Preparation is essential for success; to succeed, one must be thoroughly prepared.”. Before the competition began, we were all at the peak of our fitness, military expertise, and athletic abilities.
The first event of CCC-24 was the driving competition, C (TAMANDU) Company finished second. Over the following two weeks, we won the BAWF, Sittang race, shooting, military skills, Commander Officer’s Surprise event, and the cross country. Our Company also secured second place in the Khud race, night navigation, and basketball, third place in swimming, and fourth place in football and volleyball. After calculating the points, our Company finished in first place overall. At last, our goal was accomplished when C (TAMANDU) Company became victorious in the CCC-24. The Champion Company Trophy and, more significantly, the Champion Company 2024 flag are with us now.
We learned about our own mental toughness and motivated each other throughout. Naturally, each company member was driven by their own motivation as well as that of others.
